During 2005 and 2006, YakMusic gathered a variety of artists from all over the world (USA, UK, Argentina, and Canada) for an exciting project, dedicated to Brad Smith, Rogers Stevens, Christopher Thorn, Glen Graham and the late amazing Shannon Hoon.
Bands submitted versions of their favorite Blind Melon tunes, and YakMusic selected, produced and packaged the songs together to make a touching tribute to a very special band of the 90s. The album was released on 15th December 2006.
The album spanned almost five years of Blind Melon favorites over three albums and also includes a cover of a never-before-released Blind Melon demo called Tickled Pink, recorded and performed by Jena Kraus (who featured on Blind Melon’s Mouthful of Cavities), as well as a cover of the great Blind Melon song “New Life”, performed by The Velmas.
The album was a very limited gem, and got rave reviews from Melon Fans world wide.
To mark the occassion, four years since the albums first release, YakMusic is working towards another limited reprint for those Melon Fans who missed out nearly half a decade ago.
